Trauma Nursing
Description: Theoretical and practical course that discusses systematized management of the trauma patient. Complications registry and opportunities for improving the quality standards according to patient safety guidelines.
General Objective: To train nurses in knowledge required for classification, monitoring, caring and supervision of the management of a patient with injuries admitted to the hospital.
Specific Objectives:
- Understand the role of the nurse in the organization of a resuscitation room and identify the criteria of trauma team activation.
- Discuss the role of the nurse as part of the trauma team.
- Provide nursing care to trauma patients based on scientific evidence.
- Understand the importance of the nurse in monitoring, supervision and control of trauma care quality and trauma registry.
Target Audience (who should attend): Nurses, EMS providers & Students.

- 5 hours of theoretical content
- 3 hours of practical content
